This week, welcome the return of a popular bayou race, catch college baseball teams in three days of triple action, raise money for a good cause and enjoy hard-court matchups for the Rockets and Cougars.

  • Houston Rockets vs. Utah Jazz at Toyota Center | Wednesday March 2 – A rising Utah team visits Houston, led by Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. The first 3,000 lucky fans through the doors will also take home a Kevin Porter Jr. bobblehead. $8+. 7 p.m.
  • College Basketball: Houston Cougars vs. Temple Owls at Fertitta Center | Thursday March 3 -The Coogs host Temple in his final home game of the season, days before heading into an AAC Championship and impending March Madness. $30 and up. 6 p.m.
  • 2022 College Classic at Minute Maid Park | From Friday 4 March to Sunday 6 March – The annual College Baseball Tournament returns to Minute Maid, with 6 teams playing games throughout the weekend. Featured college teams include Baylor, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA and Tennessee. $20 and up; $45 for a 3 day pass. 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
  • 50th Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta at Allen’s Landing | Saturday March 5 | FREE – The annual canoe and kayak race celebrates a big anniversary, sending paddlers through the winding Buffalo Bayou, crossing the finish line at Allen’s Landing downtown. Attendance requires registration and costs $60 per person, but viewing is free and you can celebrate an exciting ending downtown. The race starts at 9 a.m.; Ceremony in the city center at 1:30 p.m.
  • Walk to End HIV at Sam Houston Park | Sunday March 6 | FREE – AIDS Foundation Houston resumes its annual Walk to End HIV with in-person and virtual options, which also include other ways to participate in fundraising. For the in-person event, you can take to the streets and enjoy a happy hour after the walk downtown. 1 p.m.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies at Toyota Center | Sunday March 6 –Top flight Ja Morant leads the Memphis Grizzlies to town for a youth game on International Women’s Day. $12 and up. 6 p.m.
