Ghana: MoYs appoints host agent for Common Wealth Games

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) has appointed African Origin Travel and Sports Tourism as Ghana’s sole ticketing and hospitality agent for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

A press release issued by the Ministry’s Public Relations Unit announced that the same responsibilities have been given to the company for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

The Commonwealth Games are scheduled for July 28-August 8 while the Women’s World Cup would be held August 10-28.

“As the authorized ticketing and hospitality agent for the Games, African Origin becomes the sole authorized company responsible for arranging hospitality packages and assistance to Ghanaian fans for the Commonwealth Games and the Cup. of the female world,” the statement said.

The company, according to the statement, will also be responsible for providing comprehensive travel packages to Ghanaians and has requested collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and MoYS to secure all the logistics necessary to provide comprehensive travel services.

The statement explained that the company was given the responsibility because of its experience in the industry over the years.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Samson Deen, told The Times Sports that “the company is proud to be entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the smooth flow of officials and players to events”.
