Loans with low interest rates are perfect for someone who is a homeowner. There are many loan options available to homeowners. Before you choose the right loan for you, you need to compare all offers. The terms of the loan will likely be identical to traditional loans but the rate may not.

It is useful to have a low-interest loan

For most people, the term low interest rate suits them. They want their loan to be paid off slowly. While the interest rate is significantly lower than what a long term loan would have, there are other factors that you need to take into consideration. You will need to ensure that you fully understand your loan terms and what you are expected to pay.

A low-interest loan is usually available to anyone without a credit history. The credit history of your applicant will be checked to determine if they are suitable for low-interest loans. In order to be approved for the loan you might need to prove to your lender that you have steady income. If you don’t, your lender may assess your ability and financial situation to repay the loan. It is simple to see why so many people opt to use the Champion online loans site to obtain a loan at a low interest rate.

It’s because the interest is charged monthly. This is great for anyone who has trouble managing their money but doesn’t want to go behind on paying their bills. This low interest rate allows for you to make smaller monthly payments to your lender than if it were a higher-interest loan.

A low interest loan may help you reduce your mortgage payments. With a traditional loan, your interest rates can increase if you default on your payments. With a low interest loan you might be able to avoid having the payments increase.

Many people don’t realize they are eligible for a low-interest rate until they look at several different loans. Your lender may offer you a low interest rate if you are in dire need of a particular type of loan. Your lender may offer you a low interest rates even if you aren’t eligible. While it is important to ask your lender about their rates, you should not overlook any special offers.

Internet shopping is a good place to find a loan.

Search online to find low-interest loans. Compare the offers. Make sure you compare loans from different lenders and get at least three quotes. Compare several offers to determine which one is best for you.

A low interest loan is not available to all homeowners. This can be due to their credit history. The rate of interest you get will depend on your credit score. If you have a lower credit score than you are currently, a lower rate might work for you.

For many homeowners, a low interest rates is ideal

Low interest loans can be a great option if you have trouble paying your mortgage. Instead of worrying about the present financial situation, you’ll be able focus on future savings and not worry about it.

Do not feel that you need to declare bankruptcy if your credit is poor. Low interest loans might be the best choice for you. Your monthly payments will be lower and you won’t have to worry about repaying the loan in full each year.

Before you apply for a loan, be sure to understand all details and that you can afford the payments.

Which iPad is the best?

The Apple iPad is one of the most popular tablets in the world. What draws people to the iPad is its simplicity and easy-to-use interface. An iPad lets you do everything you usually do online, from shopping to browsing and streaming videos, with just a few swipes of your fingers. There are thousands of apps you can download, with new options entering the App Store every day.

Recent upgrades to the iPad Pro have turned it into a laptop / tablet hybrid thanks to its hardware and improved CPU chip. Whether you want it to stream Netflix or finish college grades, the iPad has something for almost everyone.

What to know before buying an iPad

There are different sizes and styles of iPad that you can choose from. You want to make sure that you choose one that suits your lifestyle and meets your needs. There are four main types of iPad to choose from.

ipad mini

This miniature iPad has a 7.9 inch screen and is the smallest option available in the iPad lineup. It’s smaller than other iPad offerings and doesn’t have the high-end internal hardware you get with the larger models. It’s still an ideal choice for occasional use, light play, or welcoming kids into the world of digital devices.

iPad

The original iPad has a 9.7-inch screen and is arguably the most popular model because it balances performance and price. It’s fast enough to work for most people and supports the current version of Apple Pencil.

ipad air

The iPad Air is the bridge between the standard iPad and the iPad Pro. It has a bit of everything, with a larger 10.5-inch screen and an A12 Bionic chip for faster processing, while still weighing 1 pound. It’s a better-than-average iPad but not as powerful as the Pro.

iPad Pro

The full-size version of the iPad comes in three different sizes, all larger than the original, with options of 10.5, 11.0, and 12.9 inches. The iPad Pro acts as a hybrid between a tablet and a computer with a powerful processor and a stunning display.

Features to look for in an iPad

CPU

Apple has its own line of proprietary processors. The iPad currently uses the A12 chip; the iPad Air uses the A14; and the iPad Pro uses the latest and greatest M1 chip, straight from Apple.

Camera quality

Each iPad model comes with multiple cameras, allowing you to take photos and accept video calls. The quality of the camera varies between different models. You’ll get an 8-megapixel camera with the iPad mini, while the iPad Pro has a 12-megapixel camera for a professional-looking picture.

Apple Pencil compatibility

When the Apple Pencil came out, it was a game-changer for iPads. You can use Apple Pencil like a traditional stylus but with additional features, letting you change stylus styles with just a tap.

How much you can expect to spend on an iPad

An iPad is an investment. You can also expect to pay extra for the fact that you buy it from Apple, which means it will cost you more than a comparable tablet from another brand. You can expect to pay anywhere from $ 400 to $ 1,900 for your iPad. The starting price ranges from $ 400 to $ 650 for a standard iPad or iPad mini. Mid-range iPads are priced between $ 650 and $ 1,100 – most standard iPads fall into this price category. The most expensive iPads are the Pro line, which is priced between $ 1,100 and $ 1,900.

Best iPad FAQ

Which iPad is suitable for children?

A. While there isn’t officially a kids’ version of the iPad, all models are a popular choice for kids. If you are planning to buy an iPad for your child, we recommend that you buy a smaller model – like an iPad mini – so that it can fit more easily in their hands. You’ll also want to make sure you add parental controls to the iPad.

Apple has showcased a number of apps with disproportionate subscriptions on the App Store, angering some developers.

The ‌App Store‌ feature on the Australian Australian App Store‌, first highlighted by Beau-Nouvelle on Twitter, is called “Slime Releases” and reportedly features apps that aren’t functional and seek to charge disproportionate in-app purchase subscriptions.

One of the apps, called “Jelly: Slime Simulator, ASMR,” offers a $ 13 per week subscription to pass its paywall, coming in at $ 676 per year. Apples App Store Review Guidelines state (with emphasis on ours):

If we are unable to understand how your app works, or if your in-app purchases are not immediately obvious, it will delay your review and may trigger a rejection. And while the price is up to you, we will not distribute apps and items purchased through the app which are clearly scams. We will reject expensive apps that try to fool users with irrationally high prices.

The fact that such apps have successfully passed the App Store‌ review process to be awarded a special Apple feature in the App Store‌ has sparked outrage from some developers, such as Two’s Simeon Saëns. Lives Left, which took a closer look in one of the applications.

Since at least some of these apps charge $ 13 per week, it’s hard not to see them as violating App Store guidelines. It is therefore particularly surprising that they were actively presented by Apple on the App Store.

OnePlus Nord 2 was launched as the successor to the OnePlus Nord. The OnePlus Nord was an important smartphone for OnePlus because it offered consumers an affordable option. The new OnePlus Nord 2 starts at Rs 27,999 which is slightly higher than the base price of the original Nord, but it now sits above the even more affordable Nord CE 5G. It has higher resolution cameras, a more powerful SoC with 5G connectivity, and stereo speakers. So, is this new phone a worthy successor to the OnePlus North, or doesn’t it offer the same kind of value? I put the OnePlus Nord 2 to the test to find out.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G price in India

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G starts at Rs. 27,999 in India for the base variant which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is also a storage variant of 8GB RAM, 128GB priced at Rs. 29,999, while the high-end option with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rs. 34,999. There are three color options for the OnePlus Nord 2: Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and Green Wood, which is exclusive to India.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G design

OnePlus Nord 2 5G has the family look and resembles the OnePlus 9 series smartphones. It has a large 6.43 inch screen with a hole punch camera in the upper left corner. The panel has thin edges and only the chin is slightly thicker. OnePlus opted for a glass back for the Nord 2, which gives it a premium look and feel. You get Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back. The rear glass curves to the sides where it meets the frame, making it easier to grip the device.

The middle frame is plastic, but it doesn’t look cheap. The button placement is quite good, with the power button on the right and the volume buttons on the left of the frame. These are easy to hit when holding the device in one hand. The alert slider, a common sight on most OnePlus smartphones, sits to the right just above the power button. It is convenient to easily change the ring style.

The Nord 2 has a 32-megapixel selfie shooter

Much like the OnePlus Nord (Review), there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the Nord 2, although the more affordable OnePlus Nord CE 5G (Review) does have one. If you’ve been looking forward to the headphone jack you might be disappointed, but the Nord 2 5G has stereo speakers which are a welcome addition. The USB Type-C port is located at the bottom next to the dual SIM tray. The top of the frame only has the secondary microphone. You don’t get an IP rating on the OnePlus Nord 2, unlike other phones in this segment, such as the Samsung Galaxy A52 (Review) and the Poco F3 GT.

Coming to the rear, the camera module is in the upper left corner and contains three sensors. The lenses of two of them look a lot bigger, as does the OnePlus 9R (Review). This module protrudes a bit, causing the smartphone to tip over when placed on a flat surface. The OnePlus Nord 2 weighs 189g and packs a 4,500mAh battery. To recharge the battery quickly, it comes with a Warp Charge 65W charger in the box. My review unit was a Haze Blue and the finish hid fingerprints well. OnePlus also provides a case in the box to protect it.

Specifications of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G sports a Full HD + AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10 +. It also has a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, well positioned and easy to use. OnePlus used the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor to power the Nord 2. The company claims to have worked with MediaTek on the processor to improve its AI capabilities, so it’s officially called Dimensity 1200-AI here.

You get options of 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB LPDDR4X RAM with the OnePlus Nord 2, and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. I had the high-end variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for this review. Storage is not expandable on the Nord 2. There is support for dual 5G, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and five satellite navigation systems. The OnePlus Nord 2 is a dual SIM device with two Nano-SIM slots.

OnePlus Nord 2 5g Android11 OnePlus Nord 2 5g Review

The Nord 2 runs OxygenOS on Android 11

OnePlus has built a reputation for delivering a clean user experience through its OxygenOS software. However, recently OnePlus announced that OxygenOS will merge with Oppo’s ColourOS to share a common codebase in the future. The OnePlus Nord 2 runs OxygenOS 11.3 on Android 11, and the effects of the merge are already visible in the user interface. I’m talking in particular of the Settings and Camera apps, which now show some influence from ColourOS. Don’t worry, these changes aren’t drastic and the user interface still looks like OxygenOS.

You get Google apps as well as a few OnePlus and Netflix apps preinstalled on the device. OnePlus guarantees two years of software updates and three years of security updates with the device, which should help it age well. My OnePlus Nord 2 unit was running the July Android Security Patch, which is the latest at this point.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G’s Performances

The OnePlus Nord 2 offers a smooth experience. With the display set to 90Hz by default, you’ll notice smooth scrolling right out of the box. You can change the screen color profile as you like. OnePlus’ AI enhancements for video can be enabled from Settings. An example is slightly improved contrast and sharpness in videos, using supported apps (this worked on YouTube). I found the in-display fingerprint scanner to be very responsive, requiring only one attempt to unlock the device. Facial recognition also worked consistently well.

I took the OnePlus Nord 2 through some tests to see how this new Dimensity 1200-AI performs. In AnTuTu, the OnePlus Nord 2 managed to score 5,82,748 points. In PCMark Work 3.0, it managed 8,323 points. It also managed 819 and 2,749 points respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 5. Graphics benchmark scores were also good with the Nord 2. In the T-Rex and Car Chase scenes of GFXBench, it handled 74 fps respectively. and 34 fps.

OnePlus Nord 2 5g Port OnePlus Nord 2 5g Review

The frame of the Nord 2 is plastic but there is Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back

I played Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) on the OnePlus Nord 2 and HD graphics and high frame rate was default. The game was playable at these settings without any lag or stuttering. I played for 20 minutes and noticed a 4% drop in battery level. The phone became slightly warm to the touch.

OnePlus packed a 4,500mAh battery in the Nord 2 and it’s capable of providing around a day and a half of runtime without any issues. In our HD video loop test, the OnePlus Nord 2 managed to run for 19 hours and 46 minutes with the screen refresh rate set to 90Hz. The included Warp 65W charger is able to boost the battery to 58. % in 15 minutes and 98% in 30 minutes.

OnePlus Nord 2 cameras

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a triple camera setup with a 50 megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera, which is also present on the OnePlus 9. The main camera has an f / 1.88 aperture and OIS. There is also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 119.7-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel mono camera. The camera app UI is slightly different from what we’ve seen on previous OnePlus smartphones, but I was able to orient myself without any issues.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G quickly locked focus and the AI was able to quickly detect the scenes. In daylight, the photos had decent detail and crisp colors. The photos looked natural and even objects from a distance were recognizable. The ultra wide-angle camera has a wider field of view but there is a noticeable drop in image quality.

Close-ups were crisp with a natural depth to the background. The OnePlus Nord 2 also handled the smallest details well. Portrait mode allows you to set the level of blur before taking a photo. The output had good edge detection and good background separation.

OnePlus introduced Nightscape Ultra mode on the Nord 2 to capture better photos in low light. The AI can detect when it’s too dark and activate it automatically. Photos taken in low light were good, and text from a distance was readable as well. Nightscape Ultra mode takes longer to capture a photo, but the results are brighter with better detail in the shadows.

Selfies taken with the 32-megapixel front camera looked natural in daylight as well as in low-light conditions. Selfie portraits even worked with masks, and the phone allowed me to adjust the portrait blur level before taking a photo.

OnePlus Nord 2 Selfie Portrait camera example (tap to view resized image)

Video recording peaks at 4K 30fps on the North 2. Images were well stabilized in daylight and I only noticed occasional shimmer when walking and recording video after dark.

Verdict

The OnePlus Nord 2 reminds me of the old OnePlus smartphones, which offered great value for money. With the price of the flagship OnePlus series increasing every year, the Nord 2 will be a relief for those who don’t want to spend that much. It sticks to the basic company philosophy and offers good performance and cameras for the price. The software experience is also good, and I hope that the integration of OxygenOS with ColourOS will not change that too much. For those looking only for performance and games, the Poco F3 GT might be an alternative to consider. However, if you’re looking for a good all-rounder at this price point, the OnePlus Nord 2 should be your choice.

Updates on Chinese Business and Finance

Tencent announced new restrictions on how long minors can play its games online after the Chinese internet group came under intense pressure from state media, which called the games ” spiritual opium “.

In a social media post, the company said it was introducing the measures after “competent authorities” demanded greater protection for minors in gambling and companies fulfilling their “social responsibility”.

Shares of Tencent, whose online gaming business generated Rmb 39.1 billion ($ 6 billion) in the first quarter and accounted for 30% of its total revenue, fell 10.8% in Hong Kong before reduce losses by 6.6%. .

That left the title down almost a quarter over the past month. The company’s market value fell $ 400 billion from its January high.

The renewed volatility came after Chinese tech stocks experienced their worst month since the global financial crisis in July following an unprecedented regulatory campaign against tech sectors including education, ridesharing and social media.

Tencent’s new restrictions, which will initially only apply to its flagship title Honor of kings, will further reduce the length of time minors are allowed to play each day from 1.5 hours to 1 hour normally and from 3 hours to 2 hours on public holidays. The company will ban anyone under the age of 12 from spending in the game and will crack down on minors playing on adult accounts.

Tencent also raised three industry-wide proposals, including strengthening systems to tackle gambling addiction and called for consideration of a comprehensive ban for children under 12.

The Chinese internet giant’s announcement came after an article in Economic Information Daily, which is run by state-run Xinhua News Agency, said online video games have become ” spiritual opium worth hundreds of billions “. One expert warned that “no industry. . . can develop in a way that destroys a generation ”.

The article published Tuesday morning did not mention Tencent by name, but complained of widespread internet addiction among Chinese youth. He quoted anonymous students as saying that some of their classmates spent up to eight hours a day at Honor of kings and warned that this “new kind of electronic drug” “is advancing in leaps and bounds”. In the afternoon, the newspaper had deleted the article.

The historically charged comparison, comparing Chinese video game makers to foreign opium peddlers whose trade contributed to the disintegration of Imperial China, crushed Tencent’s stock even though miners contributed only 6% of its gaming revenue in China in the last quarter of last year.

A person familiar with the situation said the article was intended to “test the waters” and was perhaps more extreme than the position of regulators, leading to its removal.

But Li Chengdong of tech-focused think-tank Haitun said Tencent needs to respond quickly because the article may represent the point of view of some officials. “The Internet industry is under fire and businesses are nervous,” Li said.

Gaming peers NetEase and XD ended Tuesday’s session down about 8% each. The Chinese video game market was worth $ 43.1 billion in 2020, according to Niko Partners, a research and consulting firm.

The pressure on Tencent follows advice released Monday night by the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda department and other regulators targeting rival tech group ByteDance.

Regulators have said they will review and modify online recommendation algorithms to ensure they aren’t serving “bad content,” raising the possibility that authorities may act to change the underlying programming that has helped Douyin, the sister app of TikTok in China, to become a champion of the booming short video industry.

The latest regulatory measures also weighed on shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen, which have stabilized in recent days following a conference call in which the Chinese securities regulator sought to reassure global financial groups and national authorities on Beijing’s relentless crackdown on the sector.

In recent weeks, Beijing has called for a new overseas listing regime, imposed data security reviews on companies seeking to sell shares overseas, and banned the country’s private tutoring industry from carrying out profits of $ 100 billion. This made the three largest companies in the industry “practically non-investable”, according to analysts at JPMorgan.

Analysts said pressure from regulators and state media on Tuesday signaled a new challenge for Tencent, which controls the country’s ubiquitous social networking and payments app WeChat and had until recently survived the relatively unscathed regulatory assault.

That changed abruptly last week, when the company announced it was stopping all user registrations for WeChat as it upgraded its security technology to “align with all relevant laws and regulations.” Tencent’s stock has fallen nearly a quarter over the past month.

“The timing of the article is certainly raising concerns among investors due to the crackdown we have seen recently [on Chinese tech]”said Daniel Ahmad, senior analyst at Niko Partners.

But he added that it was not the first time that games had been compared to drugs in China. The article’s publication also followed rules that came into effect on June 1 that require companies to verify the age and identity of players in order to limit the time minors spend playing.

Samsung is undoubtedly the number one smartphone brand in the world. That said, the Korean giant has lost market share to Xiaomi in India. Much of this can be attributed to the competitive prices of Chinese smartphones. In response, Samsung is betting on the success of its M series line, which is aimed at low-budget buyers. Its latest handset, the Galaxy M32, looks promising as it packs Samsung’s internal AMOLED display, a four-camera setup, and a massive battery. But does he have a chance against the competition? Let’s find out.

Design

Samsung has no shortage of industrial design talent – just look at the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G which recently won the best smartphone award at GLOMO 2021. However, the Korean company’s design prowess doesn’t quite reflect the budget. of the market.

The top and side bezels are reasonably thin, but the chin is quite thick. Image: Tech2 / Chandrakant Isi

The Galaxy M32 with the plastic body has an uninspiring design. The shiny back sports a vertical line pattern that reflects the hues of the rainbow. Unlike Oppo, Vivo, and Realme which shoot innovative stuff with plastic and even make it look like glass, Samsung’s M32 has a plastic look and feel through and through.

The middle frame is quite thick and the faux metal finish doesn’t look appealing. The four-camera module is almost aligned with the back. However, the integration of the insulated and rounded LED under the module is not aesthetically appealing.

Moving around the front, the Galaxy M32 has a dated U-shaped notch to accommodate the selfie camera. The top and side bezels are reasonably thin, but the chin is quite thick. The power / lock button doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The volume rocker provides proper tactile feedback, but is harder to reach due to its higher-than-normal placement.

Overall, in terms of aesthetics and build, the Galaxy M32 is unique, but not in a good way.

The phone sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. This is an internal panel of the display division of Samsung, which is a world leader in mobile AMOLED displays. The screen has an aspect ratio of 20: 9 and a pixel density of 411 PPI.

Due to their emissive nature, AMOLED panels can selectively turn off individual pixels to render inky blacks. With external backlighting such as LEDs out of the equation, an OLED display delivers pure, vibrant colors.

Samsung claims the screen has a maximum brightness of 800 nits. Looking at how well the screen resists direct sunlight, there’s no reason to doubt Samsung’s claim.

The phone offers a quick setting to switch between refresh rates of 60Hz and 90Hz. You can also choose between vibrant and natural color profiles. In addition to this, Samsung provides an elaborate option to manually adjust the intensity of the red, green and blue LEDs. Since a blue diode has a shorter lifespan than a green and a red, this feature can be extremely useful in restoring the color accuracy of the panel after a few years of use.

Software

The Galaxy M32 comes with Android 11, supplemented by Samsung’s One UI 3.1. The operating system offers a good degree of customization when it comes to tweaking themes, the ability to toggle the app drawer, dark mode, icon layout, and widgets. However, there is a lack of attention to detail. For example, if you choose the 5×6 grid layout, all widgets are off-center.

The phone is pre-loaded with Samsung Global Goals application created in collaboration with the United Nations. It promises to end poverty and “climate change” by serving ads to your phone.

Performance

Since the Galaxy M32 is a budget smartphone, my expectations were reasonably well founded. And yet, the phone’s Mediatek Helio G80 chip disappointed me with its underwhelming performance. The handset has a stutter which gets worse as you load it with more content. It even hangs around when you pull down the notification drawer or scroll down the news feed. The app search function takes a second or two longer than you would expect to display a result. The apps reload when you switch between them.

These observations are supported by synthetic benchmarks. As you can see in the graph below, the Galaxy M32 lags behind the similarly priced Realme 8 in PCMark Work 3.0.

In the more demanding 3DMark Wild Life benchmark, the Galaxy M32 lags far behind the Realme 8, Narzo 30 5G and Narzo 30 Pro. The lack of power is noticeable while playing video games. In Call of Duty: Mobile, the Galaxy M32 only supports low and medium graphics settings. By default, the frame rate is set to Medium and setting to High causes the game to stutter.

Geekbench also paints a similar picture, with the Galaxy M32 struggling to catch up with the Realme 8 in single-core and multi-core tests.

The Galaxy M32’s struggle continues in storage performance tests that determine application load times and data transfer speeds.

Only in the sequential write test did Samsung’s budget phone beat the Realme 8.

The phone has two SIM slots with support for 4G VoLTE. For storage expansion, the Galaxy M32 is equipped with a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset network and Wi-Fi reception are impeccable. Among other features, the fingerprint scanner is fast. The built-in mono speaker is loud enough, but a stereo setup would surely have been a great addition.

Cameras

The Galaxy M32 has a quad camera setup that includes a 64 MP main snapper, 8 MP wide-angle sensor, 2 MP macro, and 2 MP depth sensor. The 64 MP main uses pixel clustering to produce 16 MP photos. During the day, the snaps provide a fair amount of detail. The colors look natural which might be appreciated by some, but they are too bland for my liking. The 8 MP wide-angle camera does what it says it does, but with noticeable barrel distortion.

The phone’s camera does not stand up in low light. Compared to other sub-Rs 15,000 smartphones from Realme and Xiaomi, the Galaxy M32’s 64 MP camera produces excessively grainy shots. The dynamic range is disappointing. In addition, the light sources in the photographs appear to be stained. Dedicated night mode is slower and takes a few seconds longer to capture an image, but it barely improves results. The 8 MP camera is also insufficient and produces grainy images.

The 20 MP front camera is quite good. For a selfie camera, it captures a lot of detail with accurate colors. Samsung has launched a portrait mode that works well. There is even a beautification mode which can remove fat from your chubby lockdown face.

Switching to video recording, the phone peaks at 1080p with a frame rate of 30. In terms of detail, the videos look good. However, even with EIS enabled, the videos look jittery. What’s more annoying is the phone’s unstable focus mechanism.

Drums

The handset packs a massive 6000mAh battery, which easily lasts over a day and a half on a single charge. It’s impressive compared to other phones in this category. However, we cannot provide comparison figures because despite several attempts PC Mark’s battery life test failed to deliver results on the Galaxy M32.

While the phone’s high-capacity battery ensures that you don’t run out of juice often, when it’s depleted, the 15W charger takes over two and a half hours to charge it from zero to 100%.

Verdict

Samsung is focusing on the budget smartphone market, which is a good thing. However, he needs to improve his game to catch up with Xiaomi and Realme. The Galaxy M32 has a few highlights like an excellent AMOLED display and long battery life. Unfortunately, it is disappointed with its weak processor and the disappointing performance of its camera in low light. Its design is nothing to write home about either.

If you are looking for a smartphone below 15,000 rupees, the Realme 8 is a much better option. It offers a sleek design, fast user interface, better cameras, and faster charging.

My hired oasis for the afternoon.

Swim

Summer temperatures can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit here in Austin, Texas, so I often look for places to swim. Fortunately, this city keeps its promises. West of downtown, for example, you’ll find the state’s oldest swimming pool, a city-owned spot called Deep Eddy. Venture further out of town and you’ll land on Lake Travis, a large body of water frequented by fishermen and double-decker barges with slides that revelers can shoot down in the water.

But a swimming option I had never thought of, let alone tried? My neighbors’ back pool, available for rent via a mobile application.

This is the essence of Swim, a Airbnb style service for swimming pools founded in the summer of 2018. After hearing about it, I had to schedule a swim. Flash forward to a Sunday afternoon in July, and I cautiously stepping into a stranger’s shallow pool shaded by tall pecans. An oversized rainbow mane unicorn float was waiting for me.

Swimply is the brainchild of co-founders Asher Weinberger, 35, and Bunim Laskin, 24, who met at a networking event hosted by Weinberger for entrepreneurs in New York City. Laskin, then a student, introduced Weinberger to the idea of monetizing home swimming pools.

The couple pursued the idea by searching Google Earth for houses with pools and knocking on doors to see if people would be willing to rent them. After creating a simple website and seeing thousands of people visiting strangers pools in just a few weeks, they decided to start a business.

Today, Swimply operates in all 50 US states, Canada and Australia, hosting half a million users and approximately 13,000 swimming pools. Weinberger says he sees the service as an experiential “extension of the sharing economy”, delivering what people want, rather than what they need. This contrasts with, for example, transport from Uber or hospitality from Airbnb.

the Covid-19 pandemic marked a big moment for Swimply, says Weinberger. The app had just experienced a winter season with little activity, and the pandemic caused a huge wave of financial uncertainty. “The roadmaps were withdrawn. We had no more money. We didn’t know what it was going to be,” Weinberger said.

As it turned out, people were all set to rent private pools, and Swimply saw nearly 5,000% year-over-year growth from 2019 to 2020, according to Weinberger.

“We have become profitable [and] which attracted venture capital, ”Weinberger explains. “We raised a Series A a few months ago for $ 10 million. The team has grown from two people to almost 70 people. “

Weinberger says Swimply has been able to meet a need on both sides of the market. Not only did the service help those who rented swimming pools pay their expenses during the pandemic, but it provided an outlet for people trapped at home, he says.

Take the plunge

The brown storage chest was filled with pool toys.

Swim

My rented garden oasis was in a leafy neighborhood in eastern Austin lined with quirky homes of all sizes. It was listed on Swimply as a “plunge pool,” which is a smaller pool intended for wading and lounging, and measured 8 feet by 15 feet with a maximum depth of 6 feet (1.83 meters). At $ 20 an hour, it was cheaper than the area’s full-size pools, which can cost over $ 100 an hour to rent. The average cost to rent a Swimply pool in the United States is around $ 40 to $ 45 an hour, Weinberger says.

When I clicked on the listing I was able to browse through a series of photos of the pool, including some whimsical aerial shots. There was room for reviews, and the place I reserved, with almost 50, averaged five stars. “Clean, private and easy to get to,” wrote one swimmer. Another said, “It was seriously JUST what the doctor ordered.” Another nearby pool did not perform as well, with some guests citing an inhospitable host and a “not ideal, but … doable” request to limit toilet use in the house.

There were also amenities. With Airbnb, I might see a hairdryer, TV, or washing machine, but this ad featured pool toys.

Sean Ables and Bronwyn Towart, my hosts, started renting their pool with Swimply last summer. Since then, they have seen customers reserve the pool for picnics, birthdays and swimming lessons. One person even shot a rap music video, Ables says, laughing when asked if he made an appearance. This gave the couple the chance to meet some of their neighbors without a pool who are eager to escape the Texas heat.

“One of the neighbors came over and used the pool, and I guess they told everyone in their block, because we started having all these people and they were like, ‘Oh , we live in [house number] 1908 or we’re living in 1903, ”Ables said.

Ables said the pair practically only used the pool to cool off after exercise. When they registered their place last summer, in the midst of the pandemic, he said they had received a “crazy” number of bookings. People liked having something safe to do outside of the house.

“They would bring their kids and let them use up all their energy because they had been home all day,” Towart explains.

‘Building bridges’

Weinberger, who hosts their own pool on the platform, says connections are a big part of Swimply.

“At the end of the day, we build bridges between communities, people build friendships in their own areas, and that’s extremely important,” he says.

My listing allowed for a full refund up to 24 hours before the booking start time and had a few house rules (no pets, no smoking, limit music during working hours). It also included access to a toilet, a feature offered by most pools, Weinberger notes.

The app asked me to enter through a door on the right side of the house, which had been left open. Ables was in the backyard and greeted me briefly before leaving me and my boyfriend in the small saltwater pool. The first thing I did was walk over to a large brown storage chest and grab some pool noodles, water guns, and a beach ball. (Yeah, I was gonna get my money’s worth.)

The pool, surrounded by trees, was a bit cool in the late afternoon. So after a few water pistol shots, wading around and a few failed attempts to sit comfortably on the giant buoy, we collapsed into chairs on the deck to dry off.

Backyard buyout

There were a few moments during my stay where my mind went to the people of the house that I didn’t know. I thought about who they were and what it was like to have strangers in their backyard on a regular basis. Were they worried that I would knock over one of the potted plants on the bridge? Take off with the mythical-looking buoy? But for the most part my attention was on swimming and I absorbed what felt like a regular pool day.

When I spoke to Ables afterwards, he told me that Swimply had added insurance to the app this year, which made them safer to rent their space. Weinberger said Swimply has a $ 1 million guest insurance policy and offers up to $ 10,000 in property damage coverage.

After this summer, Weinberger has big plans. The Swimply team goes beyond swimming pools and has a waiting list called Joyspace, where thousands of people are signed up to offer their home gyms, home theaters, private tennis courts and music studios. home.

In the meantime, as August begins and the heat rises in Austin, it’s good to know that a legion of pools are waiting for me on my phone, offering more places than I ever imagined. to escape the hot summer afternoons.
